Tiiiny! 152 cm, which means she's just a bit under 5 feet and she's pretty skinny. However, she apparently has a nice bust size--not that most people will ever know.

Very straight and a little aggressive. Her posture is excellent and never casual, so she may come across as stiff.
4. How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
Her health is excellent! She eats right and makes sure to keep herself very fit. She does bind her breasts though, and that can be limiting.
5. How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
She's not super-graceful, but she is in control and not at all clumsy. She's very aware of how she's moving and standing at all times.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive herself in the mirror?
...well, she won the beauty contest going up against an idol. Naoto's body image isn't... that great though. While she's aware that she's attractive, she's not comfortable acknowledging it to herself or showing it off and she is very uncomfortable with her breasts.

Pale complexion, very smooth skin.

Blue-black hair, and it's fine, straight and silky. It likes to stick out just a little in places but she gets it cut to go with that rather than against it.

Uh, if I read the question right: her shoulders and mid-upper back tense up most when she's uncomfortable

Old-fashioned and pretty damn classy, for the most part. Her most casual clothes are summer clothes and even then it's a button-up, pants and a tie. She likes blues and dark colors. Everything goes with her hat as much as possible.

Yes, her clothes fit very well and she's very comfortable in anything she picks out for herself.
14. Does she dress the same on the job as she does in her free time? If not, what are the differences?
Pretty much the same. Naoto doesn't really do casual, so all of her clothes double as work and free time attire.
15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
Boxer-briefs, actually, though she does have a pair or two of boxers and some briefs lying around. She owns one package of white, utilitarian conservatively cut panties and she only ever wore them a couple times. Likewise, one plainer-than-plain bra that she wore only once. She binds in layers, and wears a compression shirt over wrappings.
Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
Paku Romi-- I mean, on the lower end of the female range but not unheard of. Her voice is very smooth; it doesn't crack or change pitch except when she's very upset.
2. How does she normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does she talk easily, or does she hesitate?
Naoto enunciates carefully, and sticks to either masculine or formal speech patterns. She talks evenly and at a good pace and appropriate (but on the softer side) volume to the situation. Pace and volume go up when she's excited or upset.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
Big words. If there's a choice between a common word and a bigger, less common one Naoto will use the less common one. It's not acting pretentious either, just the type of speech she picked up as a child.
4. What language/s does she speak, and with how much fluency?
Japanese, naturally, and she's very fluent (though accented) in English. Much better reading than speaking English though.
5. Does she switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
Nope. Only when she needs to switch to communicate.

Naoto is very verbose, eloquent and in most cases good at either, but she's much more verbose when she's had time to think things over.

Usually eloquent, except when something makes her highly nervous or embarrassed. Usually these are emotionally driven things.

Naoto is extremely intelligent, probably prodigy/genius levels. She's much, much more book-smart than she is street smart but she has a lot of common sense too so she doesn't entirely fail at street smarts.

She's good at either, but much prefers time to deliberate.
3. Describe the character's thought process. Is she more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
Logical and practical, to the extreme but she also has strong emotional reactions, even though she tends to suppress them.

She's just started second year of high school, but there's a good chance that any extra subject she showed interest in she could have found a tutor and/or book to learn from. She's probably slightly ahead of her year in some subjects, but only in very specific ways related to being a detective.

Detective! She's also quite skilled with small electronics and gadgets--both building and using them. She wants to learn more science and maths, forensics and physics are probably high on her list. Probably some chemistry as well and at least through integral calculus.

Extreme introvert. The IT are her first real and close friends and she's socially awkward.

Naoto is very controlled but when she feels emotions she feels them very strongly. She's very, very driven, but also excitable in certain circumstances. She wavers between optimist and pragmatist.

She seeks to adapt and generally manages changes in situation better than new people. With new people she is very formal and can be withdrawn to the point of rudeness, though she's actively working on being better about that.

Fight, definitely, though she knows when she needs to retreat.

Hahahaha, Naoto's sense of humor is kind of poor. She has more trouble with the telling than understanding, however.

Her parents' death is one of the primary causes of her being so driven to be a detective. She wanted strongly to be one before, but not with the same desperate, single-minded passion. Facing her shadow was the turning point that led to her rediscovering her original reasons and wants for being a detective.

Being alone and failing are the biggest ones.

To become a detective worthy of her parents. To make her grandfather proud; those are the biggest ones.

her bust size Her last attempt at hiding something big really didn't end well, in terms of keeping the secret so there's nothing she particularly wants to hide from everyone, though she's intensely selective about discussing her reasons for her wardrobe and the circumstances of her shadow/persona.

It was a very good, healthy, loving relationship...until they died.

Her grandfather is the only one mentioned and she clearly loves him a lot and he loves her. He obviously cares about her happiness a lot; after all he went along with her presenting herself as a boy when he could have nipped it in the bud. Definitely a "let her find her own way with a few helpful nudges" type of grandfather.
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of her family? What are her relationships with them?
She really adores Nanako and Souji probably comes close, though she doesn't really consider him family family.
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
Souji and the first time they spoke was after Kanji was kidnapped.

Rise, Kanji, Chie, Yukiko, Yosuke and Teddie.

The above are also pretty much her only friends. Naoto is socially awkward and it turns people off. But she's getting better!

They are actually of equal importance.

...hahaha, so her first "crush" was probably actually Sherlock Holmes. The closest she's ever had to a crush on a real person is probably her "he has a crush on me ahhh what do I do?!" feelings towards Kanji.

She'd say someone intelligent, logical, controlled and basically a lot like herself. She'd probably do better with someone who's more emotive, intuitive and creative.

She's way too young for kids, yet. Well, obviously she wants to continue the Shirogane name but that's more of a duty thing than a wanting to have kids thing.

No, not really. Criminals, maybe?

She's pretty low on sexuality right now. It got pushed so far to the backburner for so long and as far as she's concerned isn't important enough to be let forward. So right now she needs to get pushed and prodded into letting it out and is pretty straight because she's never even contemplated any other idea (and almost hasn't contemplated being straight either). However, if she were to ever fully explore her sexuality she'd most likely end up a 1 or 2 on the Kinsey scale. Some girls just ping her in similar ways to Souji and Kanji.

Yes, and it's one of the driving forces behind her being a detective. She got it from her parents. And if it was a vigilante justice sort of compromise, it would take murdering someone she cares about deeply when she can't see a good way for them to be punished.

She won't discard them as out of hand, but religion isn't something she's interested in.

She had the general idea that only a man could make it as a detective for a while but she's mostly over that. She's also highly judgmental of criminals and doesn't believe there are such things as justified crimes.

She lives on her own in Inaba and considers it her home now, though she still often visits her grandfather who doesn't live too far away. It's probably an apartment he rents for her and is pretty utilitarian but very neat.

Detective novels, sentai merchandise, gadgets and materials to make things and the like.
