No, not precisely, though he saved my life. I had to take the "Dragon Den Challenge" and...it was not easy. Perhaps if I had a water-type that could learn Surf.

Falkner was quite gracious in defeat. I haven't battled any of the others personally so I can't say for certain about the rest.
