Six Impossible Things Before Breakfast

As a shock even to me, I've stuck with running for six weeks now. Generally exercise and me last a few weeks and then have a mostly amicable breakup. But not running apparently. As the weather gets warmer, I do contemplate the idea of running outside. Since I joined the gym, doing ten minutes of 5MPH running on the treadmill has been a part of my routine, but I'm afraid that without the discipline of the timer and treadmill, I'd not be as disciplined. But I do plan to at least try it every once in a while, just to shake things up.

In order to get ramped up and stay on track, I got an app for my phone that has the intervals for the C25K program. For each run it beeps at the appropriate times to switch activities (warm up, walking, running, cool down) and integrates my own playlists. Now that I'm just running for time (this week it is 5 minute warm up, 25 minutes of running, and 5 minutes of cool down), I'm using the Nike+ app on my nano. That way I can track my runs (time, distance, and speed). The apps definitely help, especially early on. I know I wouldn't have gotten this far without the extra help.
