It has been way, way too long since I last posted orz

I'm trying to be productive. Really. And considering that I'm finally getting my ass off and study some hardcore physics to pass the exam in the end of the month I'm pretty sure I'm on my way to succeeding. Meanwhile let me squee/rage/contemplate or otherwise ramble about several fandoms.

- First of all: Kingdom Hearts - Birth by Sleep! Seriously ( Read more... )

comics, 5d's, fandom, batman beyond, real life strikes back, ramblings, birth by sleep, fairy tail

Idk about fandom in general's opinion, 'cause I generally disagree with that, but my opinion is that Brave is adorable and obviously Kiryu and Crow's lovechild from the future, Harald makes some awesome faces and is probably related to Dartz, and Dragan...well, I need to rewatch his duel for icons but for now I'm pretty indifferent. He does have the best hair though.

Fffffh, your icon is awesome. <3

I don't really care about it either. But yes, yes Brave totally is. Also, re Harald-Dartz relation… how come that I didn't see this before? XDDD

As for Dragan… I suppose most of my love for him has to do with what how he affects Jack. Or at least kinda returns to him, since the constant need to prove himself has always been what drives him, IMO. Just… I dunno it feels that writers pretend to forget about it, abuse him for comedy and the remember 'hey wait, this character could be taken seriously once upon a time, let's make a play on that'. *… is sorta bitter about this. A bit at least*

HE MAKES SOME SERIOUSLY AWESOME FACES

I didn't see it 'til my icon-making rewatch but he really is. xD

I can definitely appreciate Dragan for that. That's probably my main complaint about this season; I liked S2 because it was so dark and serious most of the time and I really miss that. That's probably why I actually did like Crash Town aside from Kiryu's obvious characterization errors. CT was pretty dark when you get right down to it.

I wouldn't have noticed without your icon. When I first saw it i was like 'what the hell is that in his eye?! … *comprehension* … XDDDDD'.

Yeah, it was. When I look at the last year or so of episodes, I see loads of potential for great plots and it feels like writers constantly forget about/outright ignore it. Never mind all the characters that could be developed instead of Yusei waving around Stardust for some reason or another (remember the episodes where he barely used it? Or the ones where his screen time amounted to about half a minute?); see Sly, not to mention all the awesome charas from S1/S2 (Misty, Demak, Himuro, Yanagi, Satellite Trio and a half, Enjo Mukuro, Giovanni, the Illiaster guy from Rudger's flashback). More than the dark elements of the story, I miss how tightly weaved it used to be. And some of the character reactions bother the hell out of me. Like the recent 'oh hell, it's a goddamn god and it does RL-damage'. … I mean… EBG's anyone? *shakes head ( ... )

Well from what I know, fandom's pretty split over the WRGP, whether it's because of the length or the fact that we'll likely never see the teams again after this or because of the spammage of one-shot cards and such and such and such. But it seems to be either love it or hate it.

And yeah, the game has Crashtown, but you have to connect it with like...TF4 or something because it's a hidden chapter. ;w;

And fffffffff. I was wondering how Panther Lily would end up in the other world because he was so huge compared to the other cats. And then seeing him all tiny was fucking hilarious, and then seeing Gazelle cry over having a cat and hugging him had me in laughter and tears and just ahahahhha. Although I'm not sure how to feel about Lisanna suddenly returning. There has to be a catch involved with this.

Hm, is that. … Figures that they'd make it extra complicated >.<

Ffffh~ I thought the same thing. I also think that he is going to be very good for Gazille's chara development. They are just so hilarious together. <3

I know right? It was kinda 'wham, a wild Lisanna appears!'. Totally unexpected. Though I'm sure he's going to do something interesting with this.

Yep. Add in the lack of the other main characters (other main characters? What other main characters?) for things other than exposition, and you have a generally divided/unpleased fanbase.

Indeed, indeed. I mean, I know she said something about getting sucked into an anima or something, but that explanation of how she died/disappeared just doesn't sit well with me...

… I would laugh about this, if I wouldn't find it so terrible sad. Right now it seems the number of 'main characters' amounts to one, with two a little less unimportant characters and some people who occasionally have a line or two. Oh and the 'antagonists' of course who mostly sit somewhere in space and play ceiling!tenors. What other main characters indeed. orz

Yeah, me too. When I read it it, I mostly thought 'Huh… what the hell, not really. o.O'. Though the reunion with Mira and Elfman was cute enough to make up for it. And I'm pretty sure that he hasn't brought her back on a whim. I hope at least?
