Went to a so-called "alternative party" last night. The location was pretty alternative - behind the old town there are a couple of streets where you really don't want to be alone at night. On Friday my roommates and myself went to the russian market in Tallinn. Anything you may need for preparing food can be found there - and the prices are insanely low. Although it was pretty much necessary to go there with George, because he speaks Russian. I definitely need to prepare a decent shopping list before going next time.

Studying at a private university - it's different. You get much more support and advice. You can simply walk into the library and the study department, present your list of classes, and leave with the books and printouts you need. It's almost like being back in school ( Read more... )

Sunday, we got a bus tour. This was good, because after saturday night any kind of prolonged walking would have been impossible.

On Saturday we had the ESN city rally, where we were grouped into teams and then received a series of clues that were supposed to lead us to a certain location in the old town, where we then got a certain challenge. We got to see this on thursday as part of our orientation, including a Q&A session at the end with a choir conductor who appears in the movie.
