You did something wrong... so very, very wrong. Or perhaps she just wants to see you wallow in your misery. Anyway, Catherine has decided you've been awfully privileged and it's time for your night to be filled with horrors. What's her reasoning for this? Well, it's anything. Your not contributing to society, you're sleeping around, suffering from guilt, etc.
If you have some dark, deep-rooted issues or secrets, oh~ She knows all about them. This is how you will face them.
Applies to
gargleblasted: Nightmares will only be triggered by Catherine's presence (disguised even. This means being in the same room/close proximity to her). Only characters that have been noted to be cursed will be affected. Seriously, I don't want players going willy-nilly and making this curse a big deal amongst the refugees yet. Will you know it's her? Probably not. The Nightmare feels like that; a passing nightmare. Details of it are fleeting, but you'll wake up panicked and feeling very exhausted.
A Nightmare?
Yes! The Nightmare takes the form of a massive block tower. Eight floors in total which would take approximately eight days to complete... if you can complete it. (There's actually Nine floors, but the last floor is unable to be reached without her boss). Each floor becomes harder to climb and even if you reach the last stage of each floor, you will be facing a manifestation of your own dark secrets/issues/guilts/etc.. They're very horrifying creatures and they're definitely out to kill you. Oh, by the way, in this Nightmare Realm, your abilities in the waking world don't exist. You only options are to solve the block tower... or die.
Am I the only one?
Of course not, though, your fellow climbers appear as sheep. Will you recognize them in the Nightmare? Faintly. Will you know you saw them in the Nightmare if you awaken? Yes, but barely. Your fellow climbers are, unfortunately, neither your friend or foe. Before the final stage of each floor, fellow sheep will climb with you. Of course, some are beginning to go a little... mad, you could say. They want to survive after all; they won't hesitate to impede your progress. The fiercer ones are armed and will not wait to attack you. Remember: kill or be killed with some people. Though, if you're a good soul, you can try to help them out by discussing strategies on each landing, but that might be against you; you never know.
An exception to your fellow climbers is the final stage where you face your true Nightmare for the evening. Rarely do people have the same horror to face so in this stage, you are very alone save for the manifestation. Their abilities all differ, but try to find a way to reach that final door; it is trying to kill you.
Haha, kill? It's not like I'll die, right?
Hmm... wrong. Ever hear that myth 'If you die in your dreams, you die in real life'? That myth is applied. Falling, being crushed, electrocuted by an item, eaten by a black hole block, killed by your nightmare, etc., you will die.
So... who's just waiting to be cursed?
