Golly it's been a while, definitely time for an update.
Well, the good news is I really enjoyed my trip to Cambridge (was visiting J, my flatmate L's sister). The bad news is, I LOVED it and now really want to go. Which will make it much harder if I don't get in. I was staying with Jenny in Downing College, a stunning piece of Jane-Austen-y type

A cut is thus [bracket]lj-cut text="Whatever you want to say"[close bracket] Or just lj-cut inside said smaller than/bigger than brackets.

There are some good FAQs for putting pictures into comments, general editing and using LJ to update Facebook amongst others.

Download a thing called "Semagic" and it does it all for you. Also makes writing and editing easier. IMHO that is.

Glad Cambridge was a success. Now about theses... don't know much about them, but you do Italian Renaissance don't you?

How about somthing on the influence of Italian Art/sculpture on the attiudes of those on the Grand Tour, and how this set the scene for the political environment in England. Is that the kind of thing? Very worthy and fairly wide scope?

I'm thinking attiudes to promiscuity and the showing of flesh: art versus mores. Why was it thought wonderful to see David in the buff whilst unthinkable to "uncover nakedness" in real life? Why is Laocoon killed by serpents so sexy? And so on.
