Well I played poker twice tonight. The first time, I went out second (behind James, which is surprising because he and I usually play rather tight). Then a few guys came to floor looking for a game. This was around 12 and, because I have a volleyball tourney tomorrow, I was almost going to pass. But it's poker, and I'm beyond addicted.
We had 8 people to start. Suffice it to say, it was a pretty good game, with Queens and I represting CSH. It came down to him and I, in first and second respectively, and 2 short stacks. The flop comes Q-rag-rag, and Queens goes all in, which was a little over half my chips. Having AQ, I called, hoping he didn't hit 2 pair; I already knew he had the lady. Well I ended up winning with that A kicker. I kinda feel bad, but that's poker. We all take each other's money on a daily basis. He's still up from last night's win, and I am probably about even for the last few days. There were a few times in the night that I could have made huge hands, but I was playing safe. Like when I had the A high straight draw on the turn, needing the 10. 2 guys were all in, and that would have left me with a tiny stack. So I folded. Well I hit the 10 on the river, against 5% odds, and they ended up splitting the pot with a mid pair each. But after Queen's went out, it was 2 or 3 small hands, I let them take each other out, and the game was over. But all in all, I think I'm playing better, and was definitely getting some good cards.
