Hi there, I just started using ScrapBook. I was reading in the "About" section that you can use ScrapBook to make icons out of your images. I would love to make icons, but I'm not allowed to download photoshop or anything similar onto my computer(family computer, parent's rules). Could somebody tell me, do I need photoediting software to make icons ( Read more... )

Navigate to the picture you want to use, click 'manage picture,' and at the bottom you will see "LiveJournal: Post to Journal | Upload/Manage user picture." Select the obvious option. :]

you could always join an icon community that would do that for you. . .

If you are looking for one, our_icons is one I am in, I think they are cool. And they do take requests!

And before I used photoshop for icons, I used paint. It's not the best, but it works.
