The original, 1936 Reefer Madness?

Didn't know there was a musical version. I'd like to see that. Madness! Insanity! Lechery! Crime! It's hard to imagine that even in 1936 they were able to keep a straight face.

Letting the propaganda fear take over was a big catalyst to buying this. I saw like, the first fifteen minutes of the original.

But I've gotta say, I've never touched the stuff and I thought it was ridiculous. Those scenarios were just too much. And the really funny thing is they bought it all.

Reefer Madness is a government film made in 1936 to warn American parents about the evils of marijuana, AKA "public enemy number one!" Although it was well intended it was just a little too melodramatic and over the top even for it's time. It survived to evolve into a cult classic due in no small part to it's stupid dialogue, preachy tone, and absolutley laughable acting. A good stoner flick.

Reefer causes:

Mayhem! Violence! Debauchery! Blasphemy! Murder! IS YOUR child next?
