[QT!] Pope Alexander VI quote

[Not binding on any Marty. Lindsay is det_montana.]

“Wait a minute…”

“They couldn’t have found this guy -before- I ate lunch?”

Pino glanced up at Angell with a smirk, before going back to examining the huge floater that the other cops on the scene had just fished out of the water. “Apparently, he was causing a problem for the Upper East Side elite. He needed to be take care of as soon as possible.”

“Uh-huh,” she said, looking over the distended body, the look still on her face. This had to be the biggest floater she’d ever seen. There’s no way that it was going to fit in the back of the ME van. They were going to have to pop it. And Angell was going to be as far away as she could possibly get when he did, no question about it. She’d had one blow on her before. She wasn’t going to let it happen again. “Any sign of ID on the guy?”

Marty turned back to her and gave her a look. “Would you like to look for it?”

“A simple no would have worked, Pino,” she said, rolling her eyes as Lindsay made her way over to them, giving them both a friendly smile.

“Hawkes is on his way. What’ve we got?”

“John Doe floater. Just fished him out of the East River.”

“Whoa,” she said, her eyebrows shooting up when she saw the size of the guy. “How long do you think he was down there?”

“A long ass time,” he said with a sigh. “I won’t have a more accurate number until I get him down to the morgue.”

“Gonna pop him?” Angell asked, starting to inch away from the body slightly.

“As soon as Lindsay lets me know if she can get any evidence off him,” Marty replied, turning to the CSI. Lindsay’s eyes widened and she shook her head.

“I’m not even going to risk touching him. If there’s anything, I can get it after you pop him.”

“Works for me,” Marty replied, before preparing to pop the body. Angell tensed defensively, before holding her hands out.

“Wait a minute!” Angell said. “Aren’t you gonna let us get back a little first, get out of the blast zone?”

Marty gave her a look over his shoulder. “I do know how to pop a body, Angell. I can do it without causing you any damage.”

“Frankly, Marty-I’m with her.” Lindsay replied, starting to inch away as well. “I don’t feel like smelling like decomp for the rest of the day.”

“Oh would you two relax,” he began, and as he did, his hand moved a bit more recklessly than he should have. Angell and Lindsay both turned to try and get out of the way, but it was too late, and Angell felt the slop of dead goop slide through her hair and onto her back. She turned back around again, fixing Marty, who was equally covered in goop, with a glare. He just gave her a slightly apologetic smile, and shrugged. “Whoops?”

“You’re a dead man.”

“Oh, c’mon-”

“No, really-you’re a dead man.”
