Cedric walked into his Common Room at the end of the day, walked up to his room- almost running the last few steps- and burst in through the door of his dorm room. He slammed the door shut and flopped on his bed, the tears already starting to flow

This is so prettily sad. I can very easily see a Hufflepuff like Cedric working himself into the ground just to make someone happy. Hell, I can see me doing it.

This line is like everything that is always said about Hufflepuffs and I am so impressed that you managed to take it and bring out a side of their character that I'd never considered. The idea of poor Cedric working himself into the ground and being helped into exhaustion and desperation by his "friends"... well done.
