1940s?/50s? Japan
Found in one of the many, many boxes from my step-grandfather's basement. It breaks my heart that these were so stuck together, but at least they survived to a recognizable extent.
I'm afraid I don't have any information on exactly where and when these were taken. I only met my step-grandfather once before he died. He was a hell of a nice man with a great sense of humor, though.
edit: looking at the backs again, four of the pictures have "49" written lightly in pencil. Likely the year they were taken, I'd think. the other two, with the textured edges, just have "137" and "896" stamped on them in blue ink.
