Here’s one and
here’s another.
Personality:
When she first joined the Star Division, Subaru Kujo thought that she was a flawless being, that she's above such menial things as pride, personal connections, or even having a personality of her own. She acted cool, calm, and rational all the time, even in the heat of battle. She rarely spoke more than absolutely necessary, and whenever someone's in need of help, she would usually just stand off to the side and try not to get involved. In her mind, she was something that simply 'is'.
Once a young man named Shinjiro Taiga entered the picture, however, those illusions began to shatter.
At the beginning, Subaru kept an air of mystery about her, and refused to reveal almost any details about herself to anyone. This included, but was not limited to, such things as her age, her family, where she grew up, and even her own sex. She claimed that such things are meaningless, and a part of her truly meant that. But as she started to warm up to her team members, it became apparent that she enjoys watching people's confusion almost as much as retaining her privacy.
Indeed, the truth is that Subaru is immensely arrogant, often looking down on others and mocking their intelligence and capability. She rarely lies, but this doesn't mean she's an honest person. In fact, she has a mischievous streak, and enjoys teasing and tricking those close to her, aided by her excellent skills as an actor. And of course, she is really nowhere near as unaffected by her surroundings as she acts. She’s quite curious about things she can’t explain and seeks to understand them; usually this refers to the intangible, things that touch people’s hearts, such as well-played music or Shinjiro’s charisma. And deep down, she does have a kind heart, and sometimes gives advice to people and watches out for them, even if it winds up coming off as scathing or insulting at times. This part of her started to reveal itself more and more, with help from Shinjiro’s influence.
But Subaru is also incredibly resistant to change, especially within herself. When she began to realize that she was not the same cold, detached person she once was, she became angry and lashed out at everyone around her. She tried to assert her superiority over those around her, and felt confused when Shinjiro reacted not with anger, but with the same friendliness and desire to understand as always. Eventually, thanks to him, she realized that change was a part of being human, and something to be embraced and not resisted.
Since then, she’s become far more personable and friendly, at least to her fellow Star Division members. She’s still very private and keeps most of her personal details a secret, but she’s more receptive to forming attachments to people, and in Shinjiro’s case even encourages it. She lets her mischievous side show more, and is far more willing to go out of her way to lend someone a hand. Of course, she’s still incredibly proud and confident… she’s just stopped acting like the rest of the world’s beneath her.
Strengths:
- She’s a true genius, and thinks rationally and logically at all times.
- She’s an accredited Noh master, and a world-famous actress.
- She can read (and likely speak) Russian, Japanese, Chinese, English, and probably several other languages as well.
- She’s the most agile member of the Star Division, even managing to beat Shinjiro in a sword fight using her fan.
- She can improvise on the drop of a dime, and can adapt quickly to almost any situation she’s presented with.
- She’s very talented with the piano, especially now that she’s started playing it with feeling instead of relying solely on technique.
- Her gaze can be so intense that it is literally mesmerizing. It's not true hypnosis, just overwhelming.
Weaknesses:
- She’s really bad at expressing her feelings.
- She tends to sound insulting or confrontational, even when not necessarily intending to be.
- Even though she’s started warming up to Shinjiro and her fellow Star Division members, she’s still very standoffish and impersonal to strangers and slow to make new friends.
- She does not really believe that anyone but Shinjiro cares about her all that much, mostly due to the fact that for quite some time she actively tried to make sure no one would.
- She thinks she knows better than everyone, and though not entirely without reason, it still makes her dangerously overconfident or blind to others’ ideas.

Samples
First Person Sample: Being summoned here so abruptly has certainly done nothing to endear this world to me. Though from what I understand, the people are not to be blamed. The ones Subaru questioned earlier seemed quite ignorant on the matter. Though honestly, that is just as frustrating as it would be if they had truly been malevolent…
In any case, this world seems to have provided a straightforward enough task for its new arrivals. Those given the title of ‘Trainer’ are expected to travel the country, battle others, and challenge the gyms, correct? In the past few hours since arriving, Subaru has memorized the handbook she was presented with, and the strategies required for these battles seem simple enough to master. There is no doubt that I will accomplish my given goal perfectly. Perhaps then the secrets of this world will make themselves known to me.
Third Person Sample:
It was a still night. Subaru glanced around the room she had rented for the time being. It was not up to her standards, but she was in no position to be picky. It was more comfortable than another night outside, at the very least. The Pokémon she had been given- a Tauros, a coincidence she found rather amusing- seemed more relaxed as well, looking content to lie down next to the bed. After how it had kept charging around Route 29, it was a very welcome change. Taking advantage of the momentary peace, Subaru opened her handbook once again, examining every line with complete focus. Though the circumstances of her arrival eluded her and, evidently, everyone around here, she understood what was required of her. Her role here was to be a Trainer, and she was not one to perform anything half-heartedly.
Suddenly, a brown, furry snout appeared in her line of vision, pushing her book down. Subaru looked up in mild surprise, meeting the Tauros’s stare. Though she was not quite as averse to having other living things in her personal space, it was still unsettling to have to spend so much time alone with one. Especially when said living thing was a large, bull-like creature she had just met a few days ago. Her voice, however, remained as steady as ever and betrayed none of those feelings. “What is it?”
The Tauros stamped a foot impatiently, and nudged the book again with his nose. Subaru frowned a bit. “You understand I know nothing about this world, don’t you? Reading this is the quickest way for me to get acquainted with it.” All she got in return was a snort. As a response, she herself sighed in frustration. “It is for your sake as well. You want to win battles, correct? Then I need to familiarize myself with the strategies necessary to do so.” The Tauros did nothing to reply, but simply looked at her with what she assumed was skepticism. She ran a frustrated hand through her hair, but still tried to keep her voice as level as possible. “We’ll be back on the road again tomorrow. Reading will be impossible then, so let me do so tonight without any further interruptions.”
Not bothering to wait for a reply, she returned to her book. There was a moment of silence… and then the Tauros settled back to the ground, laying at Subaru’s feet. She looked down at the Pokémon with stiff surprise, and then relaxed into a small smile. Perhaps with this creature as her partner, her plans may go even more smoothly than she had hoped.
