The Weekend in Review - Birthdays, Board Meetings and (Monkey) Business

Mar 01, 2010 11:18

I had a good weekend, though as usual it went by too quickly.

Friday night I didn't do much. I stayed late at work then just went home and laid low.

On Saturday I came into the office for a while and caught up on some things. I was going to go to my friend Brad's place for his geeky gaming day in celebration of his birthday, but I didn't. I just didn't want to tie up that much of my day, since I was already planning on going to his party that night, so I just ran errands and worked and stuff during the day.

Saturday night I went to Brad's house for a birthday party for Brad and his girlfriend Jacy (whose birthday was a week earlier). A bunch of the Monkey Business gang was there, and a good time was had by all. We played a rousing game of Celebrity. My team came in 2nd out of 3. I left around 11:45 to catch up with another birthday party in progress at the Mercury Lounge.

Unfortunately, by the time I got there, Megan (the birthday girl) had already called it a night, due mostly to the loud music. I still knew a few people there though, so I stayed for a couple of beverages before calling it a night myself.

Sunday morning I had a Mercury Players board meeting. As usual we started late, finished late, and didn't get to various things that we probably should have, but all in all I guess it was OK. I puttered around for a bit afterward before heading to improv practice last night. It was a lot of fun. Andrew Rohn (of fame) was there with his keyboard, and so we had musical improv practice. It's frustrating for me, because I am not nearly as good at it as I would like to be, but it was still a lot of fun.

Last night I crashed early and slept pretty well, though it was one of those nights when my hive drugs didn't work as well as they usually do, so I woke up itchy and uncomfortable. Oh well, it's hard to feel too good on Monday morning anyway.
