Hey, I'm a junior in high school, and getting into Stanford is pretty much my dream for college, and who better to ask about what's required to get in than current students

Chillllllllll. You're fine. Essays are the most important part anyway, not numbers. Really sell yourself and let them know what you'll bring to this school. A couple of B's are nothing to sweat about.
just to reiterate what everyone else said - no you don't need to be a straight A student or be number one in your class. i agree with blind2grind. i definitely think the admissions people are more interested in who you are and what you'll bring here. the best way they can find that out is through your essays.
yeah, I had a few B's. and umm. yeah. Like everyone else says, it's the essays that matter. They want kids who are sincere, real, and interesting. As long as you have that, you're good to go.
Grades and scores won't keep you out, but it won't help you get in later. Stanford looks for the "intangible" in applications; they want something that cannot be quantified because the most important aspect of your application isn't your SAT score or your high school transcript

haha I got in with an 82 in calc. It really came down to NOT MY FAULT, but it was such a long story I didn't bother explaining to the adcom. I wasn't number one, and my gpa hovered around 98.1 (at a pretty crappy school), actually DECREASING as the years went by. I was such a lazy piece of shit. So I honestly can't say why I got in, but I'm not complaining. I think you're ok with the academic stuff which is neither superawesome nor bad, so your extracurriculars the image you sell in your application will be more important to the adcom.
