IT'S WINTER. HOW ABOUT SOME SNOW?
No matter where your character was, sleeping, walking, fighting, suddenly they are surrounded by snow. Or falling in a snowdrift, if one is so inclined. If they were dressed out of sorts, they're in winter wear now. There's nothing to stop them from letting loose and having fun like the five year olds repressed children perfectly responsible adults most of them are.
If they wander into a nearby clearing, there are picnic benches with trays of seasonal snacks and drinks. There's a frozen lake nearby, complete with a frozen fish fountain at the center, sparkles caught raining down in midair. The ice is solid enough to push someone on without them falling through. Not that we've tested, I'm sure.
There's a few ridiculously large piles of snow for making stuff, as well as a hill for climbing and sledding--sleds included. There's also what seems to be a large amount of heated... cotton. Extremely strange, but quite comfortable and warm to sit on.
Basically, you have all you want for a winter wonderland. Go crazy.
