Can't quite believe this is the 6th year I've done this little year in review, but here goes:
2012 - Year in Review
1.What did you do in 2012 that you'd never done before? Took the bus to work every day. Turns out I kind of like it!
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I’m not really a resolution maker.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? A new friend did!
4. Did anyone close to you die? No.
5. What countries did you visit? None, but we did go to Hawaii, which was amazing.
6. What would you like to have in 2013 that you lacked in 2012? Steadiness
7. What date(s) from 2012 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? June 6, with optimism.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Being almost done with this monster fic.
9. What was your biggest failure? My perfectionism, probably.
10. Did you suffer any illness or injury? Not really.
11. What was the best thing you bought? My ipod touch! I love this thing.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration? The president and everyone who has stood up for marriage equality.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? Republicans, usually. (That was last year’s, but it’s still pretty damn true.)
14. Where did most of your money go? The house.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? The bff moving here!!! Hooray!!! (Yes, bff, I used those extra exclamation points just for you.)
16. What song will always remind you of 2012? Home
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Similar to last year.
ii. thinner or fatter? About the same.
iii. richer or poorer? A bit more financially stable, actually.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Writing. Always.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Worrying.
20. How did you spend Christmas? Quietly, and at Les Mis.
21. Did you fall in love in 2012? No, just stayed in love.
22. How many one-night stands? None.
23. What was your favorite TV program? Bones, Glee, and those terrible TLC wedding shows. Also sports of all kinds.
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? Hate isn’t really my thing.
25. What was the best book you read? Hamlet’s BlackBerry.
26. What was your greatest musical discovery? It wasn’t a very new music oriented year, for some reason.
27. What did you want to get? Some gadgets and house stuff. More focus and direction.
28. What was your favorite film of this year? Pitch Perfect. Because a cappella.
29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? Worked and had a nice dinner with my sweetie. 32
30. What one thing made your year immeasurably more satisfying? My ever-evolving and awesome relationship with my sister.
31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2012? When did I become so sartorially lazy? Also, Goodwill is amazing.
32. What kept you sane? The wonderful women in my life.
33. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Megan Rapinoe. Sporty girls…I’m telling you.
34. What political issue stirred you the most? Marriage equality.
35. Who did you miss? K, who has been gone far, far too long and is far, far too far away still.
36. Who was the best new person you met? I’ve “met” some lovely tumblr people and nice people on my bus.
37. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2012: Have patience. Be honest. Be true to yourself.
40. Would you say that 2012 was overall a good year? Honestly, it’s been a little odd. But I guess I’m ok with that.
