Life is not simple and no matter how much you may wish for simple quick answers most things don’t work in that manner. Attempts to apply simple answers to complex issues only makes it easier for you in the short term and increases the likelihood you are going to be unpleasantly surprised by the outcome.

Stepping around the questions about it’s existence and the role it plays in what happens to people . . . Is the karma we acquire based on the intent of our actions or the result the actions actually have? If it be based on the result several things would make a great deal more sense.

I have no expectation of it happening of course but if there is justice people in government positions will be in court facing criminally negligent homicide charges before this chapter in american history is done.

for the others that will get emails of phone calls or whatever telling them a friend didn't make it out ahead of the hurricane - my heart goes out to you

It's easy to say, "Anything you live through just makes you stronger." But while that sounds like it makes sense, what about the things that just leave you scared for life? Just because something sounds good does not always make it true.
