Seriously, I know almost nothing about the beautiful game other than it is beautiful to watch, so the terminology swept over my head. But! The plot/situation/characters/everything ever you put in was so compelling I am now late to work. I love it!

The way you wrote the sport was actually exciting and the developing relationship between Erik and Charles felt genuine and it was oh so sweet. I loved everybody in this! OMG I have so many emotions! I don't think I'm gonna be able to be coherent rn.

First off, I love the shit out of this fic. I would marry it if given the opportunity. Assuming that it could throw down in the bedroom.

There was one bit in part 1 where you misspelled Sagna's first name, but that was the only typo I saw. All of the Arsenal stuff was spot on. The way you remimagined the games and the bits you showed of the players personalities were great. Also the siege mentality with the press being so very down on the club early in the season and the pressure to get out from under that, to prove the bastards wrong. Excellent!

As an aside, did you read that article about gay footballers being advised to stay in the closet in the Independent? Very good read. Nothing new, but again challenging the overwhelming homophobia in modern football.

I have more thoughts, so I may come back later, but damn, this was worth the wait!

i've been dying for someone to write a Footie!AU. As a die-hard liverpool supporter and general fan of the beautiful game, i adore seeing football thrown into my fandoms :)
