I like how the 2011/2012 television season has really been about the ladies for me. I've also noticed that my current favorite shows are female-centric or have a strong female presence. As you pointed out, I love that we finally have options! TV still has a long way to go of course in terms of representation, but right now it puts Hollywood to shame. I just can't with movies anymore, for the most part.

I feel like I need to make a t-shirt. Because the only place women really show up is in action movies for drooling fanboys or things like The Vow. 'TIS LAME.

I agree completely about the yay women! thing, but also:

Whatever burgeoning relationship that is building between Agron and Nasiyah is making me so, so, happy. That moment in last Friday's episode where Agron sees him again? I had to squeal a little.

I've always loved Agron. So it was first a joy that he was Spartacus's second and now that he's got himself a little something something. And then when the show explicitly said YES, THIS IS A POSSIBLE PAIRING, I was like OMG, OMG, DYING.
