I hope you find some tasty porcini. It sounds as though you know what you're doing with wild mushrooms. I daren't gather them in case I get poisonous ones.

Many people share your fear. Keep in mind, of course, that the truly toxic mushrooms are the VAST minority of mushroom specied in North America. Most that are "toxic" will simply give you a belly-ache, gastric distress, nausea, and/or altered perceptions. With many species, though, it's very easy to tell the "good" from the "bad

Thanks for the info. The fact it I'm not going to start mushroom hunting. Because you only need to eat one of the really poisonous ones to end up dead or permanently damaged. Also because I can barely walk (did I mention that I'm disabled? It's multiple sclerosis, worse than it was) so my days in the woods are long gone.
