Let's look at what we could have won.
Thursday - got to site early (pre-darkness) and set up personal tent. Explained the lighting rig to Sally and Rich. Drank beer. was average. Ate Unicorn food. Went to bed.
Friday - dun stuf
Luck for us, set-up crew had assembled the roofs of the four guild tents. Unfortunately that just left ours. Thanks to Militia Brian for helping out so early in the morning. We assembled roof sections. Added lights, discovered lack of one roof. (which, if we had put up the 4x10, it would have caused endless problems when the wind picked up. We am lucky)
everything was ready for time-in. at the first event of the year. This was the bestest start.
Then plot began to run out. We ran our first encounters of the year. on time. We are doing well at this point (the wife turned up too.)
Apart from too many characters were still waiting for character cards, but that was almost unavoidable with the new rules. I had passed by rules test, but felt shakey on vast areas.
Saturday - and the rain. Shame about the jugga. and a large viper landing on my ankles. was fine by supper, but it could have been a lot worse. Began to rain, and monsters stayed...somewhere. can anyone tell me where players go when it rains?
plot encounters merged into one. no idea what happened to other guilds plot. went to bed early (1 ish)
Sunday - rained
still managed a few encounters, but generally not a lot happened except we tied done the tent. spent a few hours chatting to backstage crew about how things work. Better understanding of things now.
monday - watched the jugga final. watched two armies prepare to go to war after guilds had asked them not to. watched stupid lifemaster ask them nicely to disperse. stupid lifemaster.
I don't know. should i have let them fight then and there? IC i couldn't let them, but OOC should everyone had had the chance to do the first mass combat under rules 3? It certainly sets up the moots as 'tense'...
