Problems with the home system

Looks like a little bit of history repeating...

And this post will probably offend the authors, organisers and well, they are kind of asking for it.

it's hilarious.

As revolutions go, it's terrible. It's the same rules system, with a couple of changes, to make it difficult or impossible to play both systems. It's run on a Saturday, to indirectly undermine the Sunday games. It promises things it would be naive to promise, and is a rather pathetic tantrum. There's so much missing off the launch it's either been hurried or just badly written.

It uses (without permission) my characters as example - so I want those out. I have nothing to do with this terrible concept of a system. (Train-wreck? Yep.)

It uses a map! A map! for a larp system. Immediately limit the scope of the games, who is allowed to GM. In fact this looks like a completely non-democratic system, except for the rules, which can be twinked rules wise as well and just character-wise. Wierd. How they'll avoid the favourite classes problem, and the frequency of rules changes is beyond me.

And Rainbow woods? why? It's a public footpath, about a hundred foot across at the widest point and five foot wide on the privately owned section. The farmer that owns the big open field has stated he doesn't want larpers on it. Brillant choice of site there.

Well, i was going to run the campaign this year for Blades - but i don't really see the point. I mean, if what people really want is to larp on a shite site, pay three quid per larp just for parking and then try and find a welcoming pub in town on a Saturday night... good luck.

So all in all, I think I'm pulling out of running the campaign for this year. What would be the point? If people want to make the same mistakes that we made about eight years ago, we should really let them.
