what are peoples thoughts on compromise?

So logically, to move forward, both clubs would run the same rules system, a low-level campaign, using mostly core rules would run for the first and second term every sunday. Every Saturday would be a mid-level campaign, (rank 10+) with 'cool stuff' extra spell lists, modified civilisations, hero abilities and modified character progression of 1 cp ( Read more... )

also with this solution it gives people more freedom to LARP between the two games without feeling bad about it.

I'll say these are all just ideas, and Elysium can look at them reject/change/suggest new things.

However part of the point of TNE is that they don't see any reason to email Tony anything, ever. If Tony cared to come down, play a game, get a login and join the discussion, he would have one vote on changes. Otherwise, he's not part of the Elysium club.

I'm happy to sit down and talk about it next time I'm down (so either next Friday from 8:30pm, Saturday or Sunday early) or online whenever. I can't speak for the club as a whole, but I do agree to the potential merits of the suggestions put forward here.

Apologies for the business-ese, it's been a long week at work.

Hrm, how do I say this without sending everyone off on one again?

For starters - thank you for being willing to talk, and keep lines of communication open.

However.I feel we may have unknowingly skewed the presentation of the club. Our primary aim, with Elysium, was a democratic society. The common complaint was that members felt generally 'swept aside' by more established members in BLADES, even if their opinion was (they felt) held in the majority among the newer members. It was...is... that the democratic society set up of Elysium (or so I've been told) is the main appeal. The new rules set is simply because we suddenly realised we could...but it was very secondary ( ... )

Well, obviously this bothers me, as I seem to be in the disciminated against group of 'more established' members of Blades, and I'm not entirely sure what I did to deserve it. I had thought that I'd been helpful and open-minded, so being told now that I'd been the opposite is a bit... off?

Can we meet up and at least let me know what I did wrong?

Here we reach a point where I have to be very careful with wording, or it's going to look like I'm speaking for people when I'm not, or I will come off incorrectly. And this isn't helped that I'm currently running on far less sleep than I should have while trying write this and pack for a holiday that I leave for in just over 12 hours time ( ... )
