Beat arrived quickly enough. Even if he was still prone to getting lost in the Sub, he at least knew the route from his room to the cafeteria like the back of his hand, lured by Watanuki's damn good cooking. He was a little apprehensive; he didn't get why Rhyme didn't remember anything about the Game. This was one big, confused mess he couldn't make sense out of. Yet when they'd talked she still seemed so cheerful, and calm, and accepting, just like she'd been when they first arrived in the Game. What kind of big brother was he, freaking out on her like that when it was supposed to be the other way around? He had to cool it, put on a brave face, figure out what was what.

Of course, as soon as he arrived in the cafeteria his resolve melted out. She was really there, alive and not a Noise or a pin or whatever the hell else, but he was frozen in the doorway. "Rhyme...?"

Rhyme spun around hearing her name being called.

"Hello Beat!" she said as cheerful as ever. Then noticing the frown on her brother's face, she frowned herself. "Beat? What's wrong?"

Beat was unable to hold her gaze. What was he supposed to say? She remembered nothing that had happened to them over those two weeks in the Game. Forget their situation now, she probably didn't even remember they'd died. How did he go about even explaining it? She'd never left his thoughts, not even since he came here, but now he'd gotten her back he didn't know what to do.

So, he did the only thing that made sense: he swept her into an almost crushing hug, burying his face in her shoulder. Not to hide the fact he was on the verge of tears or anything. Nope. "Rhyme," his voice was muffled as he spoke, "You... you got no idea how much I missed you, yo."

"Beat, you're acting like you haven't seen me in years. What's wrong?" Rhyme asked smiling. How was she suppose to know about the whole Reaper's Game thing?

She hugged her brother back. Beat may look tough on the outside, but inside, he's just a big fluffy teddy bear. "Come on Beat, toughen up!"
