Jenny sighed. "Well, I guess..." she trailed off. It would probably be best to just check the surrounding areas first, anyway. See if anything odd was around, and then jump to conclusions. Not just with the slight oddness of the weather.

As Ed spoke, she quickly glanced around the rest of the quarry. "Everyone here?" She asked, but waited for no answer, as she followed Ed, her hand loosely over the hilt of her sword. There may be no ferrets immediately in the waterway entrance: but who knew what could be at the junction, or following. "Two holes then we got topside."

Squall followed after them in his usual silence, wondering if Shade was overcompensating for lost time by allowing so many people on one patrol. He'd rarely been on patrols in groups larger than twos or threes. Not that a larger group was necessarily a bad thing. Jenny wasn't even pestering him-- yet. But their confidence did nothing to get rid of his unease, and he kept his eyes fixed straight ahead. As soon as the monster swap-over time was finished and they were above ground, things would get dangerous, so he wasn't about to relax.

Edward rolled his eyes, wondering when he had been landed with the most uptight, boring group imaginable. “So what’s the deal anyway?” He asked casually, his voice echoing through the tunnel. “We’re just going topside and scoping the place out right? It doesn’t take this many people to do that does it?” He asked before shaking his head, there was something about this whole thing that he didn’t like, it felt as though Shade was up to something or at the very least trying to get rid of them for a few hours to stop their bitching.

"Not usually," Ranulf replied, his voice taking on the tone of his tactics upbringing. It was only really a bluff though - the smell and the fact he was wading through water was doing no good for his cat attributes, as his ears lay flattened against his head. "I suppose it's purely for safety reasons, though it could be more of a danger to have more, but in the case of not going outside for several weeks, we don't know how things have changed. If three people suddenly got ambushed in an area that was usually safe... no scouts would return. If a large group... then someone-" he broke off for a second. He didn't want to think about those factors. The fact that people could get trapped and people got escape whilst others fought the monsters off... no. Ranulf knew he wouldn't abandon, at least. Everyone would get back from this. "-they're bound to come back. And if we end up in a seemingly safe area, we can split up. It has it's advantages.

Sora ran from the kitchen with food still in his mouth. Catching up with the rest of the group, he stop short to catch his breath. "S-Sorry guys!" He started to say between breaths. "I was getting some snacks. Can't fight on an empty stomach right?!"

He noticed that the other people didn't look as excited as him. "Is... something wrong?"
