Oh, thank god they escaped -- I'd have to erase the story from my mind otherwise. So now that I don't have to work on forgetting it, I can say it was great: Kaylee and Rodney were so dead-on in character, even under the ultimate in extreme circumstances.

Oh, God...I think I can imagine the story in which they didn't escape, but I wouldn't want to.

I kept wanting to write Kaylee/Atlantis, but that wasn't the prompt, it was Kaylee/Rodney. So...I left Kaylee/Atlantis as the, the imagined reward for surviving.

Thank you for saying they were in character. I always worry when I push the characters to their limits if people will follow them along the same mental and emotional path I imagined - especially when you kind of begin in the middle like this.

Firstly, this story should come with a warning: "Do not read while eating lunch." I'm just saying.

Secondly, this is a really cool story - I mean, it's horrible and disturbing but Kaylee is so very Kaylee and Rodney bordering on insanity and saying, "Soylent Green is people!" and "...the ship is ours!" is just awesome.

And of course together they are a dream team with machines! And I love this: Her first love was always the beauty of machinery in motion. because for Kaylee the people are always going to come second. :)

What a terrific crossover! The characters were spot-on, and I loved the ending!
