This is for vonnie-k, whom I am given to understand has to work tomorrow today, although most of her coworkers are at home. The rest of you, however, are free to enjoy as well.

I fully intend to write a post on all the reasons I think you should be watching Life (uttered with the earnestness of the newly-converted) but this is not that post. Yes, there ( Read more... )

Eeeee! I was just briefly checking out LJ at work and just came across this. You made my morning! I love that first shot of the two of them with guns raised perfectly in tandem, with the shit-eating grins on their faces. So much that I had to icon it. I'm so glad you like the show! (So, the pimping post? Get on it, missy. *g*)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Now that I have Photoshop installed on my computer again, I'm definitely going to be icon-making. I noticed the other day that you had an icon of the exact shot I wanted, too. *g*

I'm glad this helped brighten your day a little. And...I do have four whole days off. I might just get to it some time this weekend after all!

well that is a ridiculously beautiful woman and I'm fond of rumpled red head men too.

Isn't she just? Claudia Black was supposed to play a minor character on this show, but had to bow out fairly early on, so I didn't watch at first. I honestly did not expect to love either of these people so much.

I have to say I am kind of curious to see how the dynamic would've played out if Black had remained in the Jennifer Conover role. I mean, she has chemistry with random lampposts. Also, there was a YouTube clip I saw that had her as Jennifer being interviewed (I think it was the documentary scene from 1.02), and she played the scene very differently than the eventual actress did. Tougher, for one thing. More defensive in the way she described dumping him, but also more genuinely stricken at the last question "How did you feel when he was exonerated?" The current actress seems on the verge of tears in her interview scenes right from the beginning, and in her interaction with Charlie in 1.03 she's both fragile and distant. I'm basing this on exactly one scene, but I suspect Black's Jennifer would've been more combative and also had more agency as a character ( ... )

I've heard some rumblings (it might be an unfounded rumour) that the producers liked CB well enough that they're considering bringing her back for a different role, given her availability. Which would be freakin' COOL.

I did hear Brooke Langton was a last minute replacement as well. I don't dislike her as much as some others do, but I do think she's a weak link in an otherwise stellar cast. Re. the retcon about Constance's marriage though: I was watching the pilot again over the weekend, and when Constance calls Charlie to tell him to call his father, there is a prominent shot of her ring finger, and she's wearing one of those wedding ring/large diamond combo. So I think they meant for her to be married from the beginning?

More Life fans! Awwwww yeah.

Buddhism, snark, and intriguing mysteries big (arc-y) and small (episode-y). What's not to love?

The dual mystery arc/case of the week actually reminds me a lot of Veronica Mars. I think that is what I love so much about this show - it's my new Veronica Mars.

I am so much in love with this picspam that if it asked me when I was a little tipsy, I'd agree to have its babies.

BTW, awesome shots. It's easy to get shots of gorgeous actors looking, well, gorgeous. You got the shots where they're making funny faces and actually BEING the characters. It's enough to make me forget that any self-respecting police force would be handing Reese a pack of bobby pins and telling her to fix her hair.

I'm gonna take it out behind the middle school and get it pregnant!

Thank you so much. I'm glad it was enjoyed beyond its intended audience of one.

And I love shots of them looking gorgeous as much as the next person, but they both have such fantastically expressive faces. How could you NOT want shots of that?

It helps that I discovered that if I just hold down shift-command and keep pressing the 3 key over and over on my Mac while I'm playing the show on VLC, it tends to get some good shots just by virtue of volume. (But I'm not above rewinding over and over to get just exactly the right fleeting expression. It's a real hardship, let me tell you. *g*)
