Ugh. I pretty much haven't stopped thinking about how much I just wanted all that to go away. I was a borderline shipper in S2 but I never wanted them to get together, and the end of "The Parting of the Ways" was about as far as I needed them to go. And now it's like "Hey, remember how we had a tragic but meaningful ending for these two? Let's completely invalidate that and give her a Doctor with none of the experience or maturity he learned while you guys were traveling around together and also fanservice a kiss into it!" After spending the last couple of years transitioning away from that kind of Doctor-companion dynamic, it was really annoying to have to care all over

Oh, yes, I loved Coupling and was really excited when Moffat started writing for the show (though surprised that he could do something so creepy!) Hopefully these two years will give people ample time to learn the joys of the giggle loop.
Excellent point. I appreciate that the only way we get to see them again is if the walls between universes break down, or whatever. I approve of the permanent-in-name-only separation - just as we have to see the damn Daleks all the freaking time, I'm okay with the universes colliding every so often. I'm the kind of fan who cares more about the characters and scripts than the stories and themes. If my favorite people are giving us snappy lines, they could be standing in the TARDIS all season for all I care

I hope all Who fans who haven't already seen Coupling do so in preparation for Moffat's ascension.
