UNICORNS
Unicorns. They're awesome, aren't they? They're so full of prettiness and sparkles and mystery. Here are four things about unicorns:
1. I took a meme and found that apparently I am a

Unicorn
The unicorn is a legendary animal. It is usually portrayed as a slender, white horse with a spiraling horn on its forehead, although its appearance and behavior differs, depending on the location. In the west it was usually considered wild and untamable, while in the Orient it was peaceful, meek and thought to be the bringer of good luck. There it is usually depicted as a goat-like creature, with cloven hooves and a beard. In Japan it is called Kirin, and in China Ki-lin.
The word "unicorn" is based on the Hebrew word re'em ("horned animal"), in early versions of the Old Testament translated as "monokeros", meaning "one horn", which became "unicorn" in English. The creature is possibly based on the rhinoceros or the narwhal, a marine creature with one horn.

This is my new favorite thing to do with the internets. They have a little button that you can put on your browser to make everything on the web that much more full of unicorns. My favorite part of cornifying something is the changing text (also, the thought that unicorns love you forever).
3. Jenna introduced me to
Twelve Kingdoms which has lots of awesome unicorns kirin. But the real reason to love this series is that it's incredibly well done. I already had a girlcrush on Fuyumi Ono for making Ghost Hunt, but now I just adore her. I heard someone describe 12K as "an intelligent Fushigi Yuugi." That's not necessarily true, but it does have some of the same elements. It's a bit like FY minus all the romance and plus an assload of awesome. Also, the
main character reminds me of Brooke's gorgeous and sexy Arma. Only Youko's less manly and cool. ((I gotta tell you, Brooke, I sit there and pretend she's Arma.))
4. If you like unicorns, this is my favorite unicorn book:
De Historia et Veritate Unicornis: On the History and Truth of the Unicorn. My other favorite unicorn book is called The Unicorn and the Lake and it's illustrated by Michael Hague. It's my favorite children's book ever, but no Amazon link because their picture of the cover sucks.
Now that all the unicorns are out of my system, all I have to say about my regular life is that I've been working more on the Story Eater stuff, and I am still looking for jobs. But there are not many jobs to be had. I've applied to a few admin positions as well as library work. We'll see where it all leads to.
