For a long time I thought that I had to strive to achieve as much personal growth as possible in this present lifetime, and pushed my training to unhealthy extremes to try to force myself to evolve. There came a point where I simply wasn't advancing any further. I kept pushing and practising but although I could consistently reach a certain level of ability, I couldn't break through the 'glass ceiling' that was stopping me, as I saw it, from becoming stronger (I equated spiritual progress with personal ability back then
