Fireworks

Can someone plez tell me why there were fire works being displayed in DC tonight.. I was driving home and while in hte parking lot know as the WW bridge i saw Fireworks.. WTF its not the 4th of July yet. right?? so plez fill me in on what was going on in DC..

sometimes places "practice" for the fourth. Also could be a sporting event or something.
