You don't know the half of it. One summer at the start of the nineties, whilst installing a new C&C room for Kent Police, the gals in the control room let me play about with their link to the cameras dotted around Maidstone. the only problem was that the same link went into the council offices. Very often, the officers who would use the cameras for actual policing work would find their control of the devices wrested from them by bored civil servants in the council offices who just wanted to eyeball what was happening down the main shopping street.
