i've heard good things about it and the premise is pretty interesting. will have to see what i pick up the next time i go to the bookstore. any other books you recommend?

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time - Mark Haddon
essentially its a childrens book but it's very well written and is enough to keep adults interested (well if we class me as an adult that is!)

and whilst we're on the subject of "children's books"....

His Dark Materials - Philip Pullman
it's actuall three books (currently i think he is still writting things with in this universe) but some of the religous themes within it have upset certain groups.

Memoirs of a Geisha - Arthur Golden
don't see the film read the book. there is no way the book can get accross how wonderful this book is. when i read it i never want it to end.

The Secret History - Donna Tartt
excellent. her second book is "The little Friend" is no where near as good. avoid.

Cloud Atlas - David Mitchellinteresting. different stories that are interlinked. some of the stories are easier to get into then others but it's worth a go ( ... )
