so it's valentine's day and strangely there isn't a predominance of red or pink in the office. too many people i know are a little disgruntled by the catholic holiday usurped by hallmark and 1800flowers. some of you because it seems more like a "singles appreciation day" (thanks to 'someone who shall remain nameless' for that one... lol) and ( Read more... )

Ryan and I both have the same view that Valentines day is just the same as any other day. i might say happy valentines day or something but we don't get each other cards or pressies. My girlfriends think its a travesty (i hope i used the right word there...). We spend enough money and show each other enough love throughout the year so we have no need to spend a fortune especially when the price is hiked up over 100%...

i am the same in terms of missing academia, i was quite good at it, i don't seem to have quite the same feeling by doing a job. i'd be quite happy to study forever... i don't miss school though, a friend of mine and i had a discussion about this the other day and neither of us has fond memories of that time.

i still ended up getting the girl something but it's not anything i haven't done before for no other reason, you know? some people do think that the day needs to be celebrated and it would be a disservice to the relationship if it's not. but to each their own, right?

well, i miss that feeling of applying my mind. not so much the crazy schedule and the stress for tests and homework!

thats exactly what i miss, applying my mind... i'm not particularly too fussed about the ins and outs of technical stuff in broadcasting, but the job keeps me ticking over. its been good to do it again since i've been home, almost like i never left!

i'm hoping to go back to uni and study again this year, looking at business studies with accounting, that'll definitely keep my mind working!
