so i got my hands on the live CD. of course, this is the asian release of the album "songs from black mountain". i have to say that this CD is their best since "distance to here". wow is this cd good! actually, it might even be better than "distance to here". and, of course, lots of acoustic guitar riffs and such. great for me!

hmmm...if you liked it, i probably won't. seeing as how we have very different opinions on their best cds. ;)

did you see that the Format made their new cd available online? i'm not sure if you'll like it or not, but it's only $7.99.

think of a rockier version of "birds of pray". musically, it's much better than "birds" but lyrically it could be seen as a little weaker. i think it's a solid album. not at all dark and the only song that could be considered politically charged is "home" which starts out with the lryics:

i'm a soldier on the field
fighting for you, fighting for me
you can see it on our faces
like the bullets leave traces
you can feel it for real
you can imagine the pain on my baby so far away
so far from our home

when they coming home?
when they leaving that place?
see their lover's face again?
kid'll see his daddy's face again?

it's such a great song though. the rest of the songs are about love and one song called "love shines (a song for my daughters about God)". that's actually really good and doesn't slam organized religion. talks about the love and peaceful aspects of the different religions. i can see them joining that pop rock crowd. they're less alt and more pop but good pop.
