Well, I bought my first ticket to a Rat City Rollergirls match, this one against the Rose City Rollergirls from Portland. Takahashi ain't too interested in roller derby, so she's going to make July 14th, the day of the bout, a girl's night out with her sister, Gracie, and several other folks of the female persuasion. See you there, I hope. I'll be in the "official" neutral pink polo shirt of the NSO's (non-skating officials) and you picked a great bout to attend, because Rat City and Rose City have a strong rivalry,and are very closely matched in skill. You'll pay for the whole seat, but you'll only use the edge!

This roller derby will be different than your TV memories - compared to some of the stuff they did back then, it's become (dare I say) a legitimate sport now. There is all male roller derby going on around the nation, too, but the women really own this sport. The Rat City all-stars are the best of the league, so the skating and hitting will be fierce.
