posting on LJ

Jan 01, 2007 10:39

i don't think many people read my personal (domain-based) weblog anymore. i wonder if i should start posting on LJ as well or instead. would more people read and/or comment if i posted here?

how do some of you post on both your domains and on LJ? is it automated?

There is a plugin for WordPress, but you're still using MT, right? Plus you're behind a password, so it wouldn't work, same as your RSS feed can't be syndicated here because of the passwording.

You'd have to duplicate your entries here by hand, really.

I need to see who is using the plugin to find out what it's called. Let me ask. :D

There are two wordpress plugins that I know of that do this...

Live+Press offers more options but is slightly buggy and poorly maintained. It hasn't been updated in ages. It lets you use LJ tags like cut (though that one doesn't work very well for me, but reportedly does for others) and allows you to decide whether individual entries are friends only, private, or public, and also lets you select the userpic and other extra stuff (mood, music) for each entry.

Livejournal Crossposter is better code and better maintained but doesn't do everything that Live+Press does.

I still read your other site, (of course) so either one works for me. Happy New Year, Jess! xoxo

I read your other site, though I'm not sure anyone reads mine, so I'm with you!
