Military Adventurism

I opposed intervening in Libya because I want to focus on winning in Iraq and Afghanistan. I could be convinced to support it as a target of opportunity in a grand strategy against islamofascism . . . but that's not an argument I heard from the government. I might even support dropping a division of Marines into Tripoli to put fear into the other dictators out there. Doing just enough air strikes to keep the civil war roiling and calling it a humanitarian intervention baffles me.

Also troubling is the fact that many on the "freedom fighters" side in Libya are jihadists, recently returned from killing civilians in Iraq.

And their "information coordinator" or spokesperson is apparently the guy who masterminded the Lockerbie bombing. Same name, which is not conclusive, but he seems to have the right situation to be a Libyan government defectee after running their "justice ministry" and other similar ventures for years.

And the rapes, by the thousands - often done by soldiers, but knowing that the fathers will kill their daughters as part of Sharia'h law.

With friends like these, who needs enemies to shoot at us?
