this past weekend was one of the most sad and frustrating times for me in a while. it started out great. we thought we found a good match for bucky! we took him at 10am to the pasadena animal shelter and introduced him to a pitbill mix around his age. they were nervous at first and took a long walk together. then by the end of the walk, they were ( Read more... )

i just got off the phone with the behaviorist at the humane society and she actually asked for her back before i even mentioned it. she was very reassuring and called both me and my boyfriend to talk it all out. we take her back tomorrow morning.

it's really tough because it's so hard for them to place pitties and everyone there was so excited that she was coming with us because they love her so much. the behaviorist pretty much told us that she should have never gone home with us because she had tested so timid and fearful of other dogs. we all just got wrapped up in how well she played with him that it made everyone ignore that fact.

i'm going to do what i can to find her a better home. i guess she's been there a long time and i'd hate to see her stuck there for much longer.

is there a pibble rescue organization around? maybe somebody could foster her for a while? i dunno, the humane society probably has channels. definitely a bummer. it's easy to get carried away where cute dawgs are concerned.

i'm so sorry. i had a dog that had been previously abused and it took a while for him to adjust. he was basically happy and good but freaked out easily. he never stopped being terrified of going down stairs or men's voices. i think you are doing the right thing. i'm sorry, though. i know it's hard.

thankfully my boyfriend is going to take her back tomorrow morning. i don't think i could do it. just thinking about it makes me so sad :(

it does make it hard, and i do miss her :(

but luckily i still have bucky, who is pretty much one of the best dogs.

how is your pup doing?
