Every King needs a castle, right? So here's the home of the Lonsdale family. I call it Lonsdale Manor even though it's not actually a manor, but it's set in the future so whatever. 8|

In the mean time, the best advice I can give to break out of the box-house style is just practice. Build build build, find styles you like and build some more. It really isn't as hard to build non-boxy houses as it seems, you've just got to learn how. And the best way to do that, is practice. C:
Oh, but you can certainly recreate the buildings from their pictures, if you want. That'd be faster for you I'm sure.

I think my difficulty with building is laying down a pratical layout. I like one floor houses with 7 bedrooms (to have a married couple, the previous couple, nursery and possible quads) and 3 bathrooms, and since the most I build with is 3x3 lots, it gets hard to change the layout and still have it functional. Doesn't help that sims have retarded routing, so it's hard to get creative with kitchen/dining room placements.
The only style I've found that can offset the boxy build without too much decorating is using the funky roof shapes. Use the round roof and suddenly your house looks like a Super Mario mushroom. I have a BACC all in that style, and it looks cute even if the layout of the houses are identical.
