I felt like I kept putting off posting, because I didn't want to write a book about everything going on.. So no recaps. Just moving forward. And I'm tired so you're only getting soundbites tonight ( Read more... )

I'm reading Aldous Huxley's Brave New World at the moment and really enjoying it. If you like sci-fi or social commentary stuff, I'd read it. It's like a novel, so it's easy to get through.

Also, I highly recommend Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins.

hehe, I also recommend Jitterbug, I'm almost done with it. As good as it is, I read it for a while then I put it down for months at a time, but now I'm getting really into it.

I miss watching the Olympics with you and Tim and everyone. I've been catching some of the swimming and gymnastics.

Cant wait to see you in a few weeks!!!

Rawk to Duma Key. That book is amazing in ways I can't even begin to explain. ♥ I've got S.K.'s new book of short stories, Just After Sunset, on pre-order. Collector's Edition with DVD. I'm a die-hard, read 'em all fan, but I've never spoiled myself with a Collector's Ed. before. I figured it was about time. ^_^

I'm reading The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide right now. Can't wait to get past the parts that were in the movie. :P

Ooooooh, I have The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide, it is SO GOOD. Hrmmm, perhaps this merits a reread!

Yeah, I'm really enjoying Duma Key, and am having a tough time putting it down. I actually got pretty annoyed yesterday because I had planned to read until bedtime, but some friends came over instead.

Does Just After Sunset have that story The Gingerbread Girl? I keep trying to find it, but my library.. it fails me.

Yes, it does! I'm crazy-excited to finally have a chance to read it. It was originally an audiobook-only release, so I ended up pirating it. I hated doing that to my favorite author, but listening to books isn't my thing. It's wonderfully gory, though. ^_^

I recently read Running with Scissors: A Memoir by Augusten Burroughs and it made my life look all rosy and shiny so I recommend. There is a prequel to it out now that I am dying to get- A Wolf at the Table. They made the first one into a movie I think but I got interested in reading it when I heard an interview with the author on NPR.
