Profoundly un-profound ramblings....

Or if not un-profound (yes, I just used a double-negative) at the very least incoherent.

For starters, I came here to announce that I have now finished reading Ysabel. Yes, it was that good, and it was a ridiculously fast read. I started the book on Friday, and finished it just now, despite also going to class today, going to work yesterday, ( Read more... )

Yeah I thought of that. My mom keeps bugging me to do it too. I totally would, except I have this irrational fear that she'll end up being friends with any other prof I'll track down and somehow she'll badmouth me if she finds out. Irrational I know. I think I'd love it if I found an advisor today so I could reply and say 'thanks for your reply, but I've already moved on to better and brighter things'...that would be so great.

urg. Sorry to hear that about email #2. Your professor sucks ass! *icons the professor*
Aren't there any other classes teaching the same or similar to which you could sign up? It would be a shame. You've worked quite hard all year through, from what I've read here. =(
Good luck!

Hahahaha, your icons are hilarious!
Yeah there are lots of profs and I just need to find one that does something remotely interesting. Then I sign myself up to be their slave for a year and, well, that's about how it works. I think the writing of a large paper is involved as well. But the point is that yes, there are lots of profs, and it's probably best that I found out that this one was a jerk.

I have to admit I'm surprised you resisted. I don't blame you; I'd have tried to resist. Not sure if I'd have been successful though.
Yeah I'm missing karate right now :( My parents are taking me on Thursday instead of yesterday because of the weather. But after the break missing even one class feels like so much...and the whole time you're home instead of there you wonder (I do at least) if they're fighting or learning something wicked cool without you. Or, well, the good karate-ka answer would be that every class missed is missing a lot, and that's likely true, but there's always those few things that will bug you more than the others.
And I probably missed iaido too :(
Anyway. I miss you too, and karate, and our random hangouts, where there's just never enough time to talk about everything there is to talk about.
Oh, and check your email if you haven't already. Finally got around to dealing with 'cbb' :)

Gyah! This was the last thing I needed to read tonight, because I'm already feeling out of sorts and now I'm just feeling rightously incenced on your behalf. Honestly. How big is the pickle that's up that prof's ass? You should have emailed her back and asked her, in a politely sarcastic way, what her definition of "initiative" was ( ... )
