Denison Marrs = gooddavesawyerApril 30 2003, 21:47:16 UTC
If you haven't heard it, I would highly suggest picking up Denison Marrs previous album World Renown for Romance. I think it's even better than the newer album. And if you can get a hold of it, their first album Holding Hands at 35,000 Feet is also excellent.
I don't know, me and Howie Day just don't get along. I am love Mraz...but not Jack Johnson or Howie. Or Matt Nathanson. I don't know what's wrong with me!!
I haven't taken time to check out Mraz yet. I can't stand Jack Johnson. really, i don't like cliche it has become to jump on the boat with all these guys...mayer, day, johnson, now mraz...it's getting ridiculous. but anyways, still good music for the most part.
but yeah, I saw Jack Johnson open for Ben Harper and was thoroughly unimpressed. too mellow and every song has a very similar beat and rhythym pattern. of course Ben Harper tore it up, but i'm not hearing good things about his latest album unfortunately.
anyways...you really should pick up the Howie Day ep "madrigals". it's so cheap and you get a 4 song live dvd with it too. if you've never seen Howie solo in the live setting...well...you have to. the dvd is great and really displays his talent. his actual album "australia" is good but nothing incredible. but live...whole different story.
