I saw your post a few days ago and that song has been on my mind. Then tonight I went to sit in on the pastoral theology class my mom is taking on ecclesiology. She takes class at Rice School of Barry University, which is Catholic, and they read a prayer at the begining and end of each class. Tonight we read a litany at the end of class and then all sang "O Come, O come Emmanuel" together. It was strange to think about my experience there compared to classes at FSU, as these people had such a sense of God informing their knowledge and giving them the gift of learning. It was really quite lovely and fascinating and especially to end with the song.

"O come, Thou Wisdom from on high, Who orderest all things mightily; To us the path of knowledge show, And teach us in her ways to go."

Ahh very cool. Is Barry University in Miami?

Yeah, but Rice School is another campus of Barry in Bradenton, just south of St. Pete, so my mom goes there. It was also weird going to school in a parish, but sorta cool.
