I hate them too! There is a house down the street that had a scull with a spider crawling on its head and a jack-o-lantern for H-ween, a turkey and cornucopia (sp?) for Thanksgiving, and now they have a chimney complete with Santa, a Christmas tree, and a snow man for Christmas. Totally ridiculous. What's next, a blow up firework for the 4th of July? Or a Shamrock for St. Patrick's Day! ERGH!!!

oh man. I would probably be moved to action with such a neighbor. Maybe construct a big poster sign mocking them...something like...."This ugly sign was cheaper and easier to put up than those inflata-ornaments, and it doesn't look much worse! Merry Christmas!" Plant that right in the middle of your yard and maybe setup a simple floodlight in front of it for nighttime too.
