I think Michael wants to hand Whistler over on his own terms in a situation where he can control the environment.

I think Whistler was faking the ankle break.

We know why McGrady was in based on the visitiation videos on the website, but I'm not sure if it was ever featured on the show. From what I remember it was for breaking into a car.

I think taking more than just three oxygen tanks was a sensible precaution. One could be damaged, Lincoln knows of Michael's stay picking tendencies ect...

Ok, does Sona not make sense to anyone else? If the guards can get in and control the prisoners like that, why don’t they just retake the whole prison?

IMO Sona has never made much sense :) But I'll fanwank that if they had people stationed in permanently they would be easier to kill for the inmates if the inmates really are that violent. They might think it's just not worth the bother/it's cheaper to just do it all from the outside.

BTW, I realize that that it's an unpopular opinion, but, I'm glad that they didn't end it with a happy ending in season 2. IMO it would have been too neat. To me, at this point Michael didn't really deserve to have a happy ending, because what he did WAS criminal and what he did did cause many people their lives (T-Bag's victims).

I agree that it would have been too neat of an ending, but I don't think that we can blame him for T-bag. I'm of the opinion that Justice is of utmost importance, and executing someone for crimes they didn't commit is, in my eyes, far worse than letting a true criminal go. For one thing, and this is definitely the case in T-bag's case, most true criminals will commit crime again, which gives you more chances to catch them and throw down the glove of Justice on them again. You don't get a second chance to exonerate someone after they've been executed.

I do feel for T-bag's victims... But in the end, their deaths are not on Michael's hands, but on those of the Company. And even more unfortunately, they are mere drops in a bucket with all of the other murders committed in its name.

For me, it's a question of priorities. IMO, if Michael had released T-Bag and then dropped everything and searched high and low for T-Bag once he realized that T-Bag had survived his chopped off hand then I would have been okay with it and been with Michael all the way. But the way Michael seemed to care more about about anything else just made him look like somebody very shallow who didn't care about the dead bodies strewn in his path. I was so, so, so happy that in the previous story we had Sucre talking about Michael never really forgave himself for letting the T-Bag kind of people out of Fox River, something I think really had to be said and covered by the show ( ... )

Honey, Lincoln is all mine. Forever and ever, mine. ;-)

Just had to get that in before I head off to bed for some sweet, sweet dreams...

No, you're right. Of course there is tension between the brothers, after everything they've gone through how could there no be? But I think this episode had hints of the dynamic we used to get in season 1.

As for Michael's guilt, it's only going to expand if/when Sucre gets put in Sona? punished for their escape? who knows... at this point Michael's guilt seems almost like a security blanket. He needs it because he feels like he SHOULD be punished. In my opinion Michael needs to acknowledge that it was the company, not him that has caused all this pain and suffering. Then he might be able to move on.

Then we have a pretty shot of Lincoln jumping off the roof. This was a great episode for Lincoln. He just looked HOT.

You stole the words right outta my mouth....guh, guh, guh.

I think the guards left based on the day to day control--like keeping the prisoners from killing each other. They don't care, so they don't spend their time patrolling inside the way the CO's did at Fox River.

Why did they have 4 air tanks…? Who were else were they expecting to break out with? Or was it just precaution?
I think initially Lincoln thought it would be him, Michael, Whistler and Sofia. He showed it to Sofia so she knew what he had planned, sort of.

How the heck did they know how to get to that buoy? I mean that’s stretching the realms of plausibility.
Maybe Linc took a boat ride one day, he must have and they just didn't show it. Either he or Sucre had already run the route and booked the boat.

Why would the guards be digging there? Did the dogs smell their boots out or something? If you watch the overhead shot as the boys start digging up the cooler, you can see all ( ... )

Hrm. You make a good point about the guards at Sona. It's not that they can't get control it's just that they don't care. I think if I look at it like this I'll be less caught up in wondering why the prison works the way it does.

Perhaps they were intending to take Sofia with them. That doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but I think what I need to do is just stop looking at things logically. haha...

Ah... footprints, of course. I should have known that nothing ever works out smoothly in PBland.

You're right about the body bags. I had forgotten about them. I wonder what's going to happen now that Whistler has run away. I'm hoping they can find some way to get LJ out safely...

I completely agree about Whistler. He was starting to grow on me, but the moment he looked out for himself before LJ and Sofia (and that's what he's doing no matter what he says) I lost all respect for him.

Hopefully he won't be around much longer!

It’s nice to be reminded that while they may be faced with this high pressure situation, the relationship underneath is still the same.
That's the impression I got as well. I think they've reached a truce of sorts in this whole thing without actually talking about it. I posted my thoughts over in my LJ.

No matter how many times this show lets me down, or makes me sad, I LOVE THESE BROTHERS. They’re the reason why I keep watching week after week.
Exactly. As I told domfangirl, my feelings for this show aren't what they used to me but I keep watching because there are moments in every episode where I'm reminded why I fell in love with this show in the first place. I got one last night with the brothers at the window.

OH NO YOU’VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! The book. I don’t CARE about the book or about T-Bag, yet I am going to be forced into half a season’s worth of storylines about the two. What are your opinions on this new development? To me it feels like the writers are reaching desperately for any way to include T-Bag in the story lines. I get ( ... )

I hadn't thought about it that way either, and to be honest, I'm not convinced that Michael needed to be punished any more than he already has been. You make good points about the emotional fallout, and the Company still after them. I feel like Michael has suffered enough.
