I did my first charter today. It consisted of bussing a group of summer camp kids from the dreaded projects to a park in St. Charles County, Missouri (why they chose snob country, I'll never know, but whatever they want). My new school bus driver job is going to keep me busy during the summer. I'm going to be working a summer school route this summer and possibly do some charter routes as well. I already had a taste of what a route feels like, but only for three days (end of the school year for the district we're contracted for). Typically we have two pickups per ( Read more... )

So far, progress on my school bus training is going very well! I've done some classroom work this morning going over some of the basic stuff like safety and the introduction to the bus.
