Figuring Out Final Fantasy VII Series (Part 1?)

Aug 14, 2010 21:41

I've been trying to figure some things out after having played the original Final Fantasy VII many years ago when it came out, Crisis Core, having watched Advent Children and Last Order and reading up on Dirge of Cerberus, Before Crisis, Maiden of the Planet and even just posts on the Final Fantasy Wiki page.

It's pretty crazy to believe that everything just began because of one person...Professor Hojo.

If you think about it, he was basically the trouble maker as well as the puppeteer to everyone else that was involved with his experiments or Shinra. He was the one that decided to do research on the specimen,  sweetly named Jenova.

The thing had crashed onto Earth many years ago before any of our beloved characters were even around and nearly caused the planet to die. It was only because of the Ancients, or rather the Cetra, that Jenova was stopped and the Earth was saved. However it did nearly wipe out all of the Cetra because they had to use every ounce of their power to stop this alien from moving and destroying even more. And then one day a man named Hojo gets his hands on it and wants to do wild experiments. o_O

If I found anything that crazy, I would make sure it's buried away somewhere and never to be discovered by anyone. But no, he had to have it to do what he wanted to accomplish one of his many goals: create the perfect being.

He extracted the cells and created many harsh experiments, many of which ultimately degraded or just did not survive. But somehow, he was able to create the perfect fighting machine: Sephiroth. Yes, Sephiroth, the number one First Class SOLDIER. The one that went psycho on everyone, even including Shinra. The one that haunted Cloud for many years. The one that killed Aerith. The one that destroyed most of what Zack loved. The one that nearly destroyed the Earth a second time.

Why, Hojo? Why would you do something that could have this tremendous power? Kind of reminds you of Frankenstein, eh?

And all for the sake of your psychotic mind. Because you wanted to just create and not care about the consequences. >.>

For those of you that don't know, Sephiroth was created by Hojo having injected Jenova cells in the womb of a pregnant woman. Who would allow a sicko to do something like that? Lucrezia d'Alagno. One of the scientists that was by Hojo's side and also the love interest of Vincent Valentine when he was a Turk. Apparently, Hojo and Lucrezia had a fling and produced a child.....Sephiroth.

I ask you....even if it was for the sake of science...who in their right mind would do anything with that?! He was no prize...EVER! I have seen pictures of him in Dirge of Cerberus and I see what he looks like in Crisis Core....he is just one sick and ugly....creature! (I don't even know what to place him as xD )

I firmly believe that it was for the sake of science because I honestly don't believe that man is ever capable of feelings like love.  Especially since I think it was pretty obvious that Vincent really cared for Lucrezia. But that's just my own thoughts.

But honestly, Hojo...just what was your drive to continue this research even after seeing the dastardly results from your experiments? Did you envision everything just falling apart for your own amusement? Or were you trying to create your own Utopia so that everyone would just be ruled under you? Whatever it was...you're one sick fuck....

Anyway, that's all the thoughts I have for now, stay tuned for my next entry when I examine another part of the Final Fantasy VII series. ^^
